All GitHub Copilot plans
Per-seat prices in USD from the official pricing pages. “Annual billing” is the per-month price when billed annually, as the vendor states it; the yearly total is shown where published. “Price not verified” means we couldn’t confirm the number on an official page.

GitHub Copilot seat and AI credit calculator
Enter seats and the average AI credits each user consumes. Business and Enterprise credits are pooled across the organisation; usage above the pool is billed per credit.
Estimated cost
USD, excluding tax, from the vendors’ official pricing pages (data as of Oct 19, 2026). Annual billing uses the published yearly price where there is one. Promotional prices are excluded unless ticked. Usage-based charges are not included unless listed above.
How GitHub Copilot pricing works
Individual plans. Copilot Free includes 2,000 completions/month. Limited chat and agent usage; Free users can’t buy extra credits. Pro is $10 a month with 1,000 base + 500 flex AI credits/mo (flex may change). Pro+ is $39 (3,900 base + 3,100 flex AI credits/mo (flex may change)), and Max is $100 (10,000 base + 10,000 flex AI credits/mo (flex may change)). Paid extra usage starts only after base plus flex are used up; GitHub says flex allotments may change, so the calculator has a “Base only (conservative)” option. Code completions don’t use credits.
Business and Enterprise. Business is $19 per granted seat with 1,900 included AI credits per user, pooled across the organisation. Enterprise is $39 with 3,900; it is designed for GitHub Enterprise Cloud, which isn’t included. GitHub lists no flex allotment for them. Credits beyond the shared pool cost $0.01 each if paid usage is allowed (on by default; admins can turn it off).
Students, teachers and maintainers. Copilot Student is its own plan, free for verified students on GitHub Education (eligibility is re-checked every month). It has unlimited code completions and auto model selection; its AI-credit allowance is not published by GitHub. It isn’t a team plan, so it’s not in the calculator. Copilot Pro is free for verified teachers and maintainers of popular open-source projects.
GitHub Copilot is not Microsoft 365 Copilot
This page covers GitHub Copilot for coding. Microsoft 365 Copilot (Word, Excel, Teams) is a different product with different pricing.
